2024 Update to CEB’s Mechanics Liens Now Available

For a number of years we have had the honor to serve as update authors for several publications of California’s Continuing Education of the Bar (CEB).
I didn’t realize it until now but the CEB, a program of the University of California, was started more than 75 years ago following WWII to provide veterans who were attorneys with practical guidance on changes to the law as they returned to their practices following the war. Pretty cool!
One of CEB’s publications that we have had the privilege to serve as update authors for is California Mechanics Liens and Related Construction Remedies, a publication that I referenced often as a young construction attorney. In any event, the publication’s 2024 update was just released. Special thanks to the great editors at CEB who always make it easy for us update authors!

Mr. Murai
I only now just picked up your above message, but when I clicked on the supplied link, I encountered a “page not found” response.
Could you provide an updated link to the revised edition of the Mechanic’s Lien Law publication? As a former commercial contractor and now as an independent PM/CM, I have a dedicated interest in all things related to Liens (and their prevention).
Thanks

Hi Marty. The California Education of the Bar (CEB) must have moved its webpage for its publication California Mechanics Liens and Related Construction Remedies, hence the broken link in my blog post, which I’ve now updated. You can go directly to the CEB’s webpage for the publication here – https://store.ceb.com/products/california-mechanics-liens-and-related-construction-remedies-2024?_pos=2&_fid=8b2e418e4&_ss=c
