Design Professional Liens: Gone But Not Forgotten
As I’ve mentioned in a few of my posts, there will be a number of changes to California’s mechanic’s lien laws beginning July 1, 2012. Among those changes, is the elimination of the design professional lien, which has been a fixture of the state’s statutes for the past 20 years. The American Institute of Architect, California Council (who, in a former life, I used to work for), recently published an article I wrote on the changes to California’s design professional lien law.
