Contractors Invited to Comment on Proposals
for New Recycled Water Systems Standards
SACRAMENTO – Contractors who want to weigh in on proposals for recycled water system standards for newly constructed residential, commercial, and public buildings, and landscaped areas can do so at a meeting later this month in Sacramento. The second in a series of stakeholder meetings to implement Assembly Bill 2282 will be held from 1:30 p.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday, August 30, at the California Victim Compensation and Government Claims Board, 400 R Street, Sacramento, 95811.
The public meeting, sponsored by the California Building Standards Commission (BSC) and the state Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD), also will be webcast. The link will go live at the start of the meeting; you must download software to access the proceedings.
BSC and HCD staff have drafted regulations to amend the state’s 2016 Plumbing Code and Green Building Standards Code for recycled water systems as mandated by AB 2282, signed into law in 2014. The meeting is one in a series to explore indoor and outdoor applications for recycled water, determine the fiscal impact of regulations, agree on specific standards for piping and other plumbing issues, and estimate potential water savings, among other goals.
