I suppose another conclusion that can be drawn from this is “Construction experts beware! Leave your profession at home when you are selected as a juror.” This would apply equally well to a consulting physician serving on a jury in a medically-related case, or just about any other professional expert.

It’s all too easy to step over that line from using one’s own insight to saying something that could influence other jurors. It’s one of my bad habits at dinner parties. Maybe experts should just not serve on juries!
